OPEN GOVERNMENT WEEK 2025: PROMOTING TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN BUSINESS FIELD

The Open Government Week (OGW) 2025 took place from  to , 2025. This year’s event aimed to strengthen the values of open government and promote responsible business practices across the country. The OGW 2025 organized events on the same days in 21 provinces and the capital city:

  • Day 1 and 2: All local governor offices organized events to promote OGP and its values.
  • Day 3: The General Election Commission of Mongolia (GEC) introduced the open government challenge and its commitment to enhancing transparency, improving voter accessibility, and ensuring fair and efficient elections via an introductory video.
  • Day 4: In collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, a virtual training session was held for civil servants and business entities. This session covered the “National Action Plan for Protecting Human Rights in Business Operations” approved by the Government of Mongolia for 2023-2027.
  • Day 5: All local governor offices organized closing events and disseminated a video highlighting Mongolia’s 12-year commitment to the OGP, our accomplishments, the CSOs co-creation process, OGP Local, #OpenGovChallenge, National Action Plan, etc.

Participants promoted their events through their official websites and shared them using hashtags #OpenGovWeek, #OpenGovChallenge, #OGP, #OpenGov, #Mongolia, and #OGPActionPlan. The OGW 2025 successfully promoted transparency, accountability, and responsible business practices across Mongolia. The event’s activities and training sessions have laid a strong foundation for continued progress in open government and human rights in business operations. Participants are encouraged to continue supporting these initiatives and share their experiences to foster a more transparent and accountable society.
